Wexford

Founded as a Viking settlement in the 9th century, Wexford (SE Ireland), my birthplace, has long been shaped by its close relationship with the sea. Established as a Norse trading port, its sheltered harbour became central to the county’s growth, linking Ireland with wider maritime routes and cultures. Where coastline, estuaries, and inland landscapes meet a history rooted in navigation, trade, and coastal life, Wexford is both a living landscape and a place shaped by centuries of movement between land and sea.
